In the case of a flood after taking readings for the Relative Humidity and the Temperature. We would remove any items of value from the affected areas into a dry area, or removed off site to a storage area for inspection, this includes all books, papers, pictures as well as furniture. We would then extract as much water from the flooded area as possible, loosen the carpet and remove the damaged underlay, spray the area with Anti-Microbial, depending on the floor type we may have to lift floorboards to remove water and help the drying process. The Anti-Microbial will kill off any mildew, moulds, bacteria and fungus. We then place specialised dehumidifiers and airmovers in the affected areas to dry them out. The carpet is usually dried off site, with other items that need restoring, but if required can be dried on site depending on how bad the flood.
